Basic Appearance
EYES; Mimi's eyes are a dull shade of hazel though in the right light, some flecks of green can be seen. They are almond shaped, somewhat widely spaced. They often have a bored, sometimes sad look about them, but have been known to really light up when the situation suits. Often times, there are bags beneath her eyes from lack of sleep.
HAIR; A dark brunette color, her hair reaches down just past her shoulder. Her hair has a natural curl to it, which is 'organized' in its' own messy way, as contradicting as that sounds. The fact that her hair is thin, however, makes it easy to flat iron (if she isn't feeling lazy that morning). Her bangs, however, are always straightened - styled to the left, they reach just down into her eye, and are fashioned to cover the scar.
SKIN; Mimi had a poor case of acne in Middle School and the beginning of High School, but eventually her skin cleared. Never participating in sports or anything outdoors, she's awfully pale. There are a few freckles scattered across the bridge of her nose, and her skin is a bit oily. Overall, she's rather clear.
SCARS; When she was five years old, her sister pushed her down a flight of stairs after a spat over a doll. Beneath her bangs rests a small scar, stretching from the top of her left eyebrow, angled up towards the middle of her forehead.
FIGURE; She stands at the intimidating height of four foot eight inches, for she was born with Growth Hormone Deficiency Disorder. GHD is completely treatable, but it would have cost the family between $10,000 and $40,000 per year, which was something the Riter family just didn't have with two other children to take care of. She has a small build, on the lower side of 'average' - weighing ninety pounds, she isn't the skinniest in the world, but in no way could she ever complain.
FACIAL FEATURES; Mimi's facial features are thin and youthful, only adding onto her childlike appearance. Her nose is, perhaps, a bit too small for her face. Her smile is perhaps one of her best features, however; accompanied by a set of 'cute' dimples, it's considered 'pretty'.
STYLE; She wouldn't consider her wardrobe under one particular style. The majority of her attire is well-fitting, and often ranges from a pair of jeans to a small band t-shirt. Her favorite pair of shoes is a ragged pair of 'Chucks', striped pink and black with colorful, plaid laces, which completely clash. You'd be hard put to catch her in a dress, or any sort of nice clothing (but even so, you'll see those Chucks). She refuses to wear make up. No matter how hard someone tries, it's impossible. To Mimi, make up is for 'fake posers' who feel the need to hide behind a stick of eyeliner. A dramatic accusation, perhaps, but she doesn't care.
Best Physical Trait
Mimi doesn’t receive many compliments, for she doesn’t allow anyone close enough to do such, and if they do she’s bound to argue back. One compliment that she often receives, however, regards her smile. It’s hard to get her to smile to begin with, but when you achieve such, some have called it ‘beautiful’ (much to her disgust, of course). Her lips, being a decent size, part to reveal a set of white, straight teeth. To top it all off, she has a ‘cute’ set of dimples, which is probably her best physical feature.
Worst Physical Trait
Her worst physical trait, of course, would probably be her height. While some call her ‘cute’ or ‘fun sized’, it negatively affects her personality. Being only four feet eight inches tall, she finds it difficult to do the majority of things that she’d like to be able to do – reach high shelves, go to amusement parks; whatever else tall people have the advantage of doing. She finds it disabling and greatly resents it.

Secrets
∠ Resents herself for being cheated on - believes she just wasn't good enough for Josh.
∠ She is absolutely terrified of storms. At the first sign of thunder she's in tears and shaking. Only Josh and Seth ever knew about such, for they both lived with her to witness it. As much as she tried hiding in her bedroom, when the lightening strikes she just can't move, so she's stuck where she's at.
Habits
ο Subconsciously pushes her bangs off to the side too often.
ο Her leg shakes up and down rapidly when she’s sitting.
ο Cannot sit still - rocks back and forth when standing, for instance.
Character’s opinion of themselves
Mimi does not see herself in a positive light what so ever. On the contrary, her self esteem is annoyingly low, and it takes a person with patience to be able to deal with her. She will only accept compliments from one or two people in her life, and even that she mentally argues with. It got increasingly worse as time progressed, and now she pretty much wishes she were someone else. That definitely applies in the physical manner, and her confidence is seriously lacking in her career, though she had managed to build that up for about a year.
How others view your character
Other people regard her in different fashions. Upon first meeting her, she’s liable to piss you off; if she’s in a spunky mood, she will not hesitate to criticize or make some rude remark in your direction, which is an immediate turn off. If you catch her on a good day, she can be ‘sweet and charming’ at first. When you get to know her indefinitely, she’s not bad – it just takes awhile to get on her good side.
Overall Personality
Mimi is certainly a complex kind of girl. Contrary to her innocent appearance, the scowl etched in her features is not far off. A lot of the time, she's in a sour mood. The smallest of things can set her off in an instant, whether it be an ignorant passer-by or a bad cup of coffee. Of course, she has her quirks when she's in a bitter mood. She's quick to shout off random profanities in unnecessary places, her fists clench, and her leg shakes uncontrollably. She's tiny, and in no way intimidating, but that does not stop her from attempting. She will do whatever it takes to get to eye level with her current annoyance (mainly stomping up on a chair) and stare them down, though of course, she never succeeds. That normally irritates her further, of course.
You can never expect Mimi to be in a good mood until she has a cup of coffee. That's normally a stupid thing for someone's mood to be affected by, but let's face it. She has to have something in the morning to wake her up, her morning 'jolt', so to speak, to get her aware of her surroundings. Of course, there's no saying that coffee is going to make her the happiest person on earth, but it's definitely a step in the right direction.
She's rather uptight around people she doesn't know. She has a difficult time gaining friends, for she often spouts off a sarcastic remark, or points out bluntly a flaw. Needless to say, she has a few trust issues, though that's more self-inflicted paranoia than anything else. When she does gain a friend, she often clings to them. If she honestly adores a person, she'll be scared to death of losing them, and often practices appeasement to keep them close. That never ends well, of course.
Granted, Mimi can be sweet as a button - it's just a chore to get there. She often chooses not to be, after all, and she's too stubborn to be persuaded either way. When she is in a good mood, however, she's definitely hyperactive. Normally beaming, twisting on the spot, tapping her foot, whatever mood she's feeling is quite obvious. She's never been one to hide what she's feeling.
Her sense of humor is rather…Unique, so to speak. While her comebacks are often witty and clever, any regular jokes in a positive social situation tend to be lame, no thought put behind them at all. She'll often slip in a "That's what she said" where it doesn't fit. Still, as long as she amuses herself, everything's all good.
Those who know her are quick to tell how lazy she can really be. It's not a large factor in her life - she'll most definitely go up and get her own soda, but only if she absolutely has to. She's used to sitting around all day, spending her time reading, writing, etc. She's never been into the sports scene.
Mimi is awfully paranoid. She's under the impression that everyone dislikes her, and she thinks that every whisper nearby is directed at her. That normally goes hand in hand with low self esteem, however. She doesn't think highly of herself, not one bit. Of course, her attitude may at times come off awfully indifferent, but rest assured that she will take a lot personally, think about a small aspect of a conversation for hours, and twist it into something that could possibly hurt her at a later time.
She's, admittedly, very proper in dictation. Her British accent (somewhat forced) is one thing that can get her attention when she needs it, and tends to speak in a formal manner. Well, most of the time, at any rate.
When Mimi meets someone of the opposite gender she's interested in, she becomes quite the 'hopeless romantic'. She has her little quirks - curling up, listening to the man's heartbeat, etc. If there's one way to cheer her up, that's definitely it.
Despite all of her flaws, she's smart. A 4.0 grade point average all throughout High School, her lack of a social life caused her to bury herself in schoolwork, which definitely paid off in the end.
The youth is very goal oriented. Mimi had always been quite the art type person. Sure, she was in no way, shape, or form capable of playing the guitar or drawing, but she always had a way with words; writing them and speaking them. An aspiring singer, she would spend her days in England and New York in the local theaters. She one day hopes to be on Broadway, shattering audiences with her voice. On the side, she would love to be an author, painting a picture with words? Perfect. One day, she wishes to write out and publish a novel with one of the many plots she had thought up in her head while drinking copious amounts of coffee.
Some of her habits include shaking her leg up and down, biting her lower lip, rocking back and forth on her feet, ruffling up her bangs, pacing, wrinkling her nose, and curling up.
Mimi's absolutely obsessed with coffee - large, black, as strong as you can make it. Fill it with as much sugar as humanly possible. She tends to be very dependent on her morning coffee.
She has three talents; singing, which she is open about, writing, which she…Isn't as open about, and Guitar Hero, which simply serves no purpose in any detail of her life what so ever, aside from sheer amusement.
Needless to say, Mimi Riter isn't anyone of interest, but she definitely has her defining qualities.

Best Memory
If asked to recall her favorite memory, Mimi would often times fight with herself on the matter. She is torn between two instances in her life, both significant in their own way. The first would have to be the first time she let Seth Hall anywhere close in her life – a High School boyfriend gone awry; her only friend was there to help when she needed it most. That was the first in depth conversation they had with one another, and because of it, they’re still best friends today. The next memory she adores so would be the opening night of that hit Broadway production, where so many amazing things happened. After all, being on stage was something she had always craved. With a voice bigger than one could fathom, coming from a girl so small, it was the only time she didn’t feel quite so vulnerable. The standing ovation they received that night boosted her self esteem. Finally, that was the first night she and young Josh admitted any feelings they had for one another – for their on-stage kiss, as both agreed, was so much more than a cue that night. For as crappy as that relationship ended, she had a great time building it up, and enjoys that night more than anything.
Worst Memory
Mimi’s worst memory would definitely be the night her father was killed. She wasn’t home at the time of receiving the phone call, for by this time she had begun spending the majority of her nights out at the local coffee shop. She can remember returning home to an eerie silence, entering the den to witness her sister’s silent tears. With a sharp intake of breath, she learned what had become of her father. Not too long after, she was uprooted from her home and dragged to the United States.
Overall History
Mimi Mae Riter was born on the first of May in Jarrow, England. She was born to Catherine and Richard Riter, and was followed twenty-seven minutes later by her twin, Nicole. Their three year old sister, Ally, was never excited by the idea of having younger siblings.
When Mimi was five years of age, things with her sister, Ally, began to go downhill. When Mimi swiped a doll and refused to give it back, Ally grew angry and pushed the small child down a flight of stairs. Mimi acquired the scar above her left eye from the blow, though she couldn't recall just how that happened if asked.
When Mimi and Nicole reached the age of five, their father took up drinking, though he was never violent, and the girls were rarely exposed to the man (they were always in bed before their father would come stumbling through the door). That simply lasted three years, however, before their father got help.
When Mimi was twelve, her place in the family began to be established. Ally and Nicole took up most of the attention; Ally with the negative, Nicole with the positive. It wasn't as though Mimi was neglected in any sort of way, but she was one to keep to herself. She picked up an addiction to coffee, which almost symbolized how she would grow up to be the most mature of the family. To this day, she needs a lot of coffee to start her day if she wants to correctly function.
When Mimi was fourteen years old, almost ironically, her father was killed in a car crash by a driver who had been drinking. Everyone in the family dealt with the death in different ways; Mimi simply became more bitter and sarcastic, making it more difficult to break down the wall she put up. Nicole slid into a depression of sorts. Ally became more violent towards her younger sibling, and the sister's mother took to dating.
Catherine Riter was an editor, while Gerard Morals was an author in the United States. Catherine traveled to the United States in order to meet with said man, for what was supposed to be a two week trip. During this time, fifteen year olds Mimi and Nicole were left in the care of eighteen year old Ally (who had never grown out of the sibling-abuse she enjoyed so much). When Catherine and Gerard hit it off, that two week trip morphed into a two month trip, before one dreaded phone call; the family was moving to the United States, and Catherine Riter was soon becoming Catherine Morals. Rushing, much?
The three girls picked up and moved to the United States. Ally, being of-age, never did meet Gerard more than once. She split from the family (much to Mimi's delight), and they haven't heard from her since. Mimi and Nicole, on the other hand, moved with the new couple to Staten Island, New York.
When Mimi moved to Staten Island, she met a next door neighbor around her age by the name of Seth Hall, and immediately, they became best friends. They were inseparable. Everyone wished a romance would form between them, but it was impossible; the two were too much like siblings. That was confirmed their Sophomore year of High School at a party; spin the bottle, and that one little, dreaded kiss... Never again.
Their High School careers were rather successful. Mimi passed with flying colors, top 3% of her class. She was bright, and definitely focused upon her school work, for she didn't much bother with personal relationships, other than the occasional passing friend, Seth, and one High School boyfriend.
After High School, both Mimi and Seth attended New York University where she eventually graduated with a major in theater arts and a minor in English. As Seth's music career lifted off, they eventually parted their separate ways and Mimi remained in the heart of New York City as a Bohemian Broadway Buff.
Her short lived career on Broadway was successful enough for her, but all went down the drain as she broke the number one rule in the business - never date a fellow actor.
But he was charming, there was absolutely no doubt about that. Opposite of her was young Josh Renolds, a young, eager male quite excited about his career. As they spent time together, working on flourishing their stage roles, a romance in the wings developed. This really reflected on the stage, which got the show raving reviews for the chemistry that radiated from the couple.
Mimi had never fallen so fast - hell, she didn't think it'd be possible to fall so damn fast. He was gentle, adorable, and they seemed perfect for each other. A young twenty-four year old, she couldn't have been happier. After four months together she moved into his apartment and gave him her all. Of course, as most media relationships, the stress of being in the spotlight and being together constantly really took a toll on their relationship.
It was a romantic first year - the night of their anniversary, he had proposed to her, and she tearfully accepted. She decided that it would be easier on their relationship if she left the stage production when her contract was up, while he allowed a six month extension, which would guarantee them enough money to plan the wedding. Two weeks after her run had ended, she stopped in the theater to see him working with the new female lead.
Well, let's just say they were engaged in a lip lock, and that wasn't the scene they were rehearsing.
Needless to say, the wedding was called off in a huff. Mimi was heartbroken and abandoned her run on Broadway for good, moving to the small town of Riverside to get away from it all. The show had been successful enough to the point where she wasn't required to leave her apartment all too much that first year in the small town.
Seth's band career had died out at this point, and after getting back in touch, both decided that things would work best if the two friends moved in with one another, both for financial support and emotional support.
Mimi returned back to school at the local small-town college, bitter as ever, studying to become a High School teacher.

And it's beginning to snow.
Stupid best friends and their tendencies to get songs stuck in your head. Actually, stupid best friends for getting you interested in things you spent all of your time resisting.
And now, he was a RENThead.
Not that it was anything to be ashamed of, but Seth Hall was finding himself humming beneath his breath a bit too much. Not only did his best friend shove RENT into his life, but musical theater in general. And, when Seth got interested in something, everybody suffered.
The lyrics fit the scene, though - as he trudged through the city streets, the buildup of snow in his messy, chestnut hair only grew, and his lips pulled up into an excitable grin. He loved the snow. Everyone he knew happened to be bitter beyond belief that it was still cold and wet in March, but personally, he didn't see what the problem was.
Of course, perhaps that was because he was bundled up to the point of 'dork', and therefore wasn't worried about the cold as much as his feminine companion (his best friend, and the fiend who had put him in this situation in the first place).
"Can we get some coffee?" Mimi Riter chimed in, staring up at Seth with a frown on her face.
Unlike Seth, her spirits were not as high. Still, her spirits were never as high, and the scowl on her face was just as evident as usual. A shiver shot down her spine as she stuffed her hands into the pocket of her thin, leather jacket, shaking her hair out in an attempt to clear the snow from the brunette curls, which fell down across her shoulders in an organized mess.
"Calm down, Emmy. You look like you're about to bust," - an exaggeration - "We'll grab some coffee, sure."
"I'm calm, I'm cool, I'm just thirsty -"
"You're ancy."
"And you're just an ass, but you don't see me going around pointing that one out," Mimi retorted, her British accent thick and bitter.
A small chuckle escaped his lips as he placed his hand on her shoulder, which she promptly shrugged off, sliding out of his reach, colliding with a passerby in the process. She muttered a quick apology as they swore at her, and stepped closer to Seth, hazel eyes staring down at her shoes.
Seth tugged up his thick coat's sleeve (with difficulty) and stared down at his watch.
"Mm, hey, we need to hurry up and poof -"
"Poof?"
"because Dancing With the Stars starts in like, ten minutes. Gotta be back at my place to unlock the door, then. So, vite vite, aller aller." The boy gave his shorter companion a small push, and, furrowing her brow at his spontaneous usage of French, she took a sharp turn into the nearest coffee shop.
The cliché bell prompted Mimi to jump as the door swung open, and she cxcked an eyebrow as she approached the counter. The two frequented at this coffee shop - with her uncanny obsession / need for the beverage - and so it wasn't long before an employee emerged from the back, a smile dawning his features.
"Oh, why hello Mr. Seth, Miss. Mimi, how on earth may I assist you today?" the male grinned, fixating himself behind the cash register.
"Stuff it," Mimi greeted.
"'Ey there, Jon. How're things here going?" Seth responded calmly, an amiable grin gracing his lips, and he approached the counter, brown eyes watching the employee with polite interest.
"I thought you said we were in a hurry, Seth," Mimi pointed out.
"I lied. And, in any rate, I'm just making polite conversation"
"Small talk. You're making small talk, and small talk is annoying."
"What can I get you?" Jon interfered - he knew where conversations like that could lead with those two - and he smiled.
"My usual. Large coffee, strong as possible, black, load it with sugar, yeah, you know how I like it," Mimi ordered, poking her head up over the counter. A victim of Growth Hormone Deficiency Disorder, she stood a petite 4'8" height - though did her best to make up for lack of height with personality.
"I know how you like it," Jon joked with a smirk, giving a playful jerk of the head, and turned to the taller, scrawny 6'3" Seth. "And you?
"Mm, just get me my usual tea, I think," he said casually.
Their requests were satisfied and Mimi was quick to sip at her own drink, only to burn her tongue and whimper. Every time. A cough aroused their attention, and both peered up to see Jon's hand out expectantly.
"Your turn to pay," Seth reasoned, holding up his hands in defense as he stared down at Mimi.
"I just injured myself!" she snapped, her words slurred, for she still had her hand on her tongue. "There's not even a warning on this f- cup. I should get this for free. I should sue."
Jon rolled his eyes and snatched up her paper coffee cup, pulling out a Sharpie from his hind pocket (who DOES that?) and scribbled "HOT" in big, messy scrawl, setting it in front of her once again. She looked up at his hand, which was once again held out expectantly, and she rolled her eyes.
Seth laughed and slipped Jon the money (he knew they'd never get a seat in a timely manner if Mimi had to pay, they never did) and put his hand on her head, twisting her around to push her towards a booth in the corner.
The coffee shop was calm tonight, only a few customers engaging in quiet chatter. The two indulged in a discussion (about the latest happenings on one of their favorite television shows) and blocked out the rest of the coffee shop.
For the times they are a-changin'.
